Terms of Use

Last updated:

Under final legal review — current practice is described accurately.

These terms set out the agreement between you and Timeline when you use the Timeline app. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

1. The service

Timeline is a web application for independent NDIS disability support workers in Australia. It helps you plan shifts, record shift events, generate NDIS-compliant invoices, track payments and prepare BAS summaries. It is operated by Billal Khan (ABN 28 125 756 646), a sole trader registered in New South Wales, Australia.

2. Eligibility

To use Timeline you must:

  • be at least 18 years of age;
  • hold a valid Australian ABN; and
  • be providing, or intend to provide, NDIS disability support services in Australia.

Timeline is designed for independent support workers operating under their own ABN. It isn’t intended for registered NDIS providers with employees, agencies or plan managers.

3. Your responsibilities

When you use Timeline you agree to:

  • provide accurate and complete shift records, participant information and billing data;
  • comply with the NDIS Practice Standards that apply to the work you do and the registration category (if any) under which you operate;
  • verify all invoices and tax calculations Timeline generates before you submit them to participants, plan managers or the NDIS — the records are yours, and so is responsibility for their accuracy;
  • keep your login credentials secure, and notify us promptly at hello@timelineapp.com.au if you believe your account has been compromised;
  • only use Timeline to store the participant information and shift content necessary for NDIS compliance.

4. Pricing and payments

Timeline costs a small share of what you invoiced through the app in the previous calendar month. It is free under $500 invoiced a month and capped at $99 a month at the top of the scale. Every feature is available at every level. The full schedule lives on the Pricing page.

You add a payment method before you preview and send your first invoice — so you can set up, run your shifts and write your notes before any card details are needed. From then on, fees for the previous month are charged on the 7th of each month through Stripe.

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing in the Timeline app — there’s no cancellation fee. Fees already charged for completed months are non-refundable; you keep access for the rest of any month you’ve paid for.

5. Your data

Your records belong to you. Shift records, participant information and invoices remain yours at all times, and we make no claim over them. We process them only to run the service for you, in line with our Privacy Policy. Your data is hosted in Australia, and we hold NDIS-related records for seven years to meet NDIS retention obligations.

6. Intellectual property

The Timeline software, design and documentation are owned by Billal Khan and are protected by Australian intellectual property law. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while you have an active account in line with these terms. Your own data — shift records, participant information and invoices — remains yours.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Timeline is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate at all times.

We are not liable for any loss of income, missed payments, incorrect invoices submitted to participants or to the NDIS, compliance failures, or any indirect, special or consequential damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service. Where we are liable, our maximum aggregate liability to you for any claim is limited to the total fees you have paid to Timeline in the three months immediately before the event that gave rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

8. Termination

You can close your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the Timeline app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that is harmful to other users or to us, with reasonable notice where the circumstances allow.

9. Changes to these terms

We will email you at least 14 days before any material change to these terms. Continued use of Timeline after the effective date of changes is taken to be acceptance. If you don’t agree with a change, you can close your account before it takes effect, with no further obligation.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute arising from or in connection with them is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
